Tip #5: EAP - Microsoft Word Shortcut Commands
If you don’t have reliable access to the internet, meaning you can’t access your Google Drive, and you need to work from a Word Doc or an Excel Spreadsheet, learn the important keyboard commands so you don’t even have to remove your hands from the Home Position to activate your Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
Ctrl + S = Secure your shit.
Alt + Space Bar + N = Hide that shit.
Since you, comrade, came prepared, you have a work-related Word Doc ready to take the main stage in a pinch. In that case, Ctrl + Shift + F6 is your revolving bookshelf. You toggle from writing project to work project as easily as inhaling and exhaling. Writing. Work. Writing. Work. It’s all second nature to you.
If your Bossibal Lecture can’t see a damn thing without her reading glasses, take advantage of font size. Ctrl + A and Ctrl + [ your text down to print so fine she’d have to be a legalese reader for radio commercials to see that you’re currently excluding work terms from your condition.
Ctrl + W = close that shit. Be sure to have your “save as” destination set. Don’t get caught with your Dialog Box open, if you know what I mean.
Make Mavis Beacon proud; get those command sequences down.
Practice. Practice. Practice.
If things get really dire, Ctrl + Alt + Delete and self-destruct the whole damn operation. You may lose one day’s work, but you live to write another day.
Never get captured alive. Never.
